Oktoberfest 2011

I love how photography enables me to see.  I have a lot of things going on, so I tend to place seeing into the background.  I’ll say something like, “Well, I have to take the kids to school, and I don’t have time to see.” Is that true?  Isn’t it always possible to see?  In 2011, I had many things going on, a new job and a divorce, an angry love and a child.  My life was complicated by the turmoil, but I return to the question, can I see?

dyxum.com has been my friend for ages, and in each October, there is a challenge to use one camera and one lens, and do the best you can to see each day in the month.  I joined in 2011, and it was wonderful and beautiful.  It isn’t about the gear per se, though gear can help capture our perceptions accurately.  It is about seeing.
